Welcome to JGAS 2009

Over the last years, methods and ways of communication have changed drastically, due to the digitization of information with the rapid development of information technology, media diversification, IT infrastructure expansion etc.

In the field of the print media as well, printing production methods as well as the market structure have changed a lot, resulting in rapid transformations, which had never happened in the past, in the environment surrounding the printing industry, such as by broad use of on-demand printing, toner-based or ink-jet equipment, and by the emergence of tremendous productivity improvements or high added-value solutions for offset presses.

Under these circumstances, the Japan Graphic Arts Show "JGAS 2009" will take place for five (5) days from the 6th to the 10th in October 2009 at the Tokyo Big Sight. Here most of the latest products and materials and cutting-edge technologies will be exhibited and demonstrated. The Show will provide attendees with opportunities to survey future technologies and to identify technology trends, such as "How the print media can grow and prosper with the electronic media." The Show will also facilitate international contacts for personnel to further develop and invigorate the graphic arts industries.

Approximately 120,000 visitors came to see JGAS in 2005, among them many overseas visitors from East Asia. At JGAS 2009 we expect even more visitors.
